Eaglestar and MSA Organised The 5th LNG & Tankers Ship Safety Management Workshop

Eaglestar, with the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) of the People's Republic of China  organised the 5th  LNG and Tankers Ship Safety Management Workshop at Shenzhen, China.

Since 2012, the annual workshop has firmly established itself as an ideal platform for bilateral engagement and sharing of important and current issues relating to maritime safety, environment and regulatory requirements. Held from 26 to 29 September, the four days' workshop has attracted 32 Port State Control Officers (PSCO) from 31 different MSA regions in China. For the first time, the workshop has received participation from the members of the International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERTANKO).

On the first two days, the audience were kept engaged with some intriguing presentations on LNG and Tanker safety by Eaglestar and MSA officials, whereas INTERTANKO contributed a presentation on classification of PSC deficiency. The third day agenda included a real vessel presentation and practice where the participants spent half day on board of the China LNG Shipping vessel, the LNG/C "Dapeng Moon" that was off-loaded at Dapeng Terminal, China.

The workshop sessions provided an excellent opportunity to gather, interact and exchange ideas among the participants.

Winding up the workshop, MSA expressed their appreciation and commended the commitment displayed by Eaglestar for supporting a bilateral engagement in organising the event annually with excellent proficiency.
