HR Learning Day 2017 – Launch of the New Group Leadership Competencies

The shipping market and the business environment are constantly evolving. To remain relevant and competitive, the Company too needs to evolve. In order to support the new direction, HR recognised that with the refreshed Vision, Mission and Tagline, the employees of MISC need to step up to face the challenges that lies ahead.

On 27 February 2017, MISC’s Human Resource (HR) Division celebrated their 12-month long effort with the introduction of the new MISC Group Leadership Competencies. in a string of interactive, exciting activities with incentives to encourage participation.

Booths were set up at the foyer on Level 17. Four booths represented each of the four Leadership Competencies and another five displayed the development courses or programmes available to MISC employees. The new Leadership Competencies will require MISC’s employees take a more active role in their career and personal development where they can identify and sign up for the courses that will help boost their leadership capabilities.

The participants were encouraged to take part in various activities and games prepared by HR. Special booths that featured training courses for all levels of employment were also available to the employees attending the event.

Through the launch of the MISC Group Leadership Competencies during the HR Learning Day, each and every one of MISC’s employees are now empowered to take charge of their own career development within the Group. Apart from the Leadership Competencies, there is also the Functional Competencies which is currently in progress of being reviewed. Both the Leadership and Functional Competencies will support our employees to become better individuals and able to collectively support the future goals of MISC Group moving forward.
