HR Learning Day 2018
"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young".
These are the words of the famous car maker, Henry Ford's that resonate with our broad and comprehensive learning and development initiatives that promote continuous learning amongst our employees, to grow and develop them.
The Learning Day held on 15 March 2018 at Menara Dayabumi brought much excitement to MISC’s employees, providing an overview of the leadership learning programmes offered and the opportunity to engage with external training providers. The programme themed L.E.A.P (Learn. Explore. Accelerate. Perform) also reinforced the objective that was introduced during MISC’s HR Learning Day 2017 for the employees to take accountability on their learning and development by truly embracing the culture of “Own It” and “Results Matter”.
In honouring the employees' commitment towards learning excellence, 12 MISC engineers who have passed their Technical Professional (TP) assessments were awarded with certification of recognition by MISC’s VP of Offshore Business. The engineers are now recognised by MISC as subject matter experts in their respective engineering field. Their accomplishments demonstrates the strong spirit of total commitment and persistence.
In conjunction with this event, HR also launched a new learning avenue called "The PLATFORM" where speakers are invited to share their experiences that serve as inspirations to employees and make a difference in whatever they do. The launch of The Platform saw the National Premier Youth Award and ASEAN Youth Award recipient, En Mohammad Rizan Hassan sharing his amazing life journey. He built his life from scratch and then, through "1 Belia, 1 Kemahiran" (1B1K) project that he established and created skills-training programmes to help marginalised youths to find education and employment opportunities.
